Car Rally 2008

9 Cars. 4 hours. More than 10 destinations.
At the height of fuel prices, we must be crazy to organise a Car Rally. But organise one we did! With the teams vying for the grand prize of… 2 boxes of Toblerones! Introducing the teams:
- Pastor Big Daddy: Johnny, Jeffrey, Wee Leng, Magdalane, May, Viana, Tiffany
- Road Warriors: Eddy, Shane
- Huh: Christon, Minhui, Andrew, Joyce
- Sleepy Queens: Jess, Heleena, Anthea, Clara, Kelsey
- Durians: Jesse, Li En, Sammi, Amos
- X’Presso: Faith, Jimmy, Lionel, Tricia
- The Beamerz: Nat, Doca, Shimona, Claudius, Arlene
- Chilli Padi: Davin, Boon, Jen, Rachel
- Never Say Die: Chai Hee, Mei Jye, Shu Yi, Sean
And that high-budget prize of TWO boxes of Toblerone chocolates goes to….

Team… CHILLI PADI (Boon Leong, Rachel, Davin & Jenny)!!!!
Coming in a close 2nd is… Team Beamerz (Claudius, Shimona, Nathaniel, Doca & Arlene).
And not far in 3rd place… Team X’presso (Jimmy, Faith, Lionel & Tricia).
But of course, its really all about the journey, not the destination. So in the end, we’re all winners! So says our Pastor Big Daddy Johnny.
Many kudos to the ingenuity and passion of Jonathan Gerber, without whom we would not have seen THE tree at Mt. Pleasant Road, soaked our feet in the hot springs at Sembawang, counted the number of colored windows on the MICA building, and other oddities.
Thanks also to Rachel Phoon and Davin Susanto for all the logistical preparation and promotions!
And of course, showers and showers of gratitude to all our participants — your enthusiasm, your generosity (all that mileage!), your excitment, your support, your graciousness… we could go on and on. To summarise: You all ROCK!
This has germinated an idea, and we’ll have another rally soon — it’ll be on foot this time, so start dusting off those crosstrainers of yours!
